Two People Dead after Fatal Head on Collision near Nether wallop

Two people have died following a collision near to the village of Nether wallop in Hampshire this morning . The collision involved a Blue VW Caddy Van and a White Citroen panel van and took place on the A30 near to Wallop Drive at around 6.50am on Tuesday morning.   Police closed the road for over five hours this morning to carry out collision scene investigation work following the fatal collision. A 63-year-old Salisbury man, who was driving a white Citroen, and a 58-year-old Reading man, who was driving a blue Volkswagen vehicle, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency services were called to the scene with paramedics and doctors in an attempted to save those involved. The single carriageway section of the A30 was closed the following a collision with drivers being diverted away from the scene. The road has since been cleared and reopened following the collision A spokeswoman from Wilts and Dorset Fire Control said that they sent two fire appliances to the scene after receiving call just after 6.54am. A Spokesman for Hampshire Police said ” We are investigating the exact circumstances of the collision and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
