Yesterday marked a solemn occasion as firefighters from Euston Fire Station and members of the community gathered to commemorate the 36th anniversary of the tragic King’s Cross Fire. The ceremony was held to honour the memory of the 31 people who tragically lost their lives in the disaster, which has since become a pivotal moment in fire safety history.

Remembering the Victims: The King’s Cross Fire, which occurred on 18 November 1987, claimed the lives of 31 people, leaving a lasting impact on their families and loved ones. The fire is believed to have started from a discarded match on a wooden escalator in the underground station. A sudden and intense flashover occurred during the evacuation through the ticket hall, rapidly engulfing the area in flames and smoke.
