Woman dies following collision with Lamp Post on A35 near Hinton
Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic incident in the Hinton. Police were called to the A35 Lyndhurst Road at 3pm yesterday (August 8) to reports of an incident involving a Ford Focus. The car came to rest on its side against a lamp post, close to the Cat and Fiddle pub, trapping the female driver. The 65-year-old driver from Bedfordshire was taken to Southampton General Hospital but died a short time later. Officers are investigating the incident and looking into the possibility that the driver suffered a medical episode and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
