Iwan Opens Up: “I’m Shaken, Car Written Off”

The athletics legend broke his silence on the crash, admitting the news isn’t great. He told fans, “Sorry I’ve been quiet for a few days, people asking me what the matter is, I can’t sugar coat it, not great news.”

Iwan revealed he was hit while stationary by a car going around 50mph. “It hurts,” he said. Thankfully, his dog Teddy was not in the car at the time.

“Unfortunately, the car is gone, that’s written off. I was shaken up, I’m still shaken up,” he added.

Thanking Emergency Crews Amid a Tough Year

Despite his injuries, Iwan expressed gratitude to the emergency services on the scene. “Obviously, police, paramedics, emergency services who attended, thank you very much.”
