M4 Shuts Down in Berkshire After Massive HGV Crash

The westbound M4 in Berkshire is completely closed between Junction 13 and Junction 14 following a serious collision involving a Heavy Goods Vehicle. The lorry smashed through roadworks, leaving a huge oil spill blocking the carriageway.

Highways England Traffic Officers and service teams are on the scene tackling the mess. Drivers are warned to expect delays and avoid the area if possible.

Follow the ‘Hollow Squared’ Diversion

Motorists must follow the official diversion marked with “Hollow Squared” signs:

  1. Exit the M4 at Junction 13 and head south on the A34
  2. Exit the A34 at the A4 interchange
  3. At the roundabout, turn right and continue to the next roundabout
  4. Follow the A4 towards Hungerford
  5. Turn right at the A338 roundabout
  6. Follow the A338 back to the M4 Junction 14 to rejoin westbound traffic
