A 24-year-old man from Southampton has been charged with possession of a knife in a public place after police recovered the weapon during a stop in Derby Road on Wednesday evening.

Officers stopped Amar Ahmed, of College Place, Southampton, at around 6.30pm on 22 April after spotting suspicious behaviour. The police search uncovered a knife blade or a sharply pointed article.

Charge And Court Appearance

Following enquiries, Ahmed was charged on 23 April with possession of a knife in a public place. He has since been remanded in custody ahead of his appearance at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on 24 April.
