Nathan Slemen, 48, from Newby Street, Liverpool, has been sentenced to 40 months in jail after being caught red-handed supplying Class A drugs. The Liverpool Crown Court handed down the sentence this week, following a Merseyside Police operation targeting County Lines drug activity.
The arrest took place during a proactive patrol by Merseyside’s County Lines Taskforce on 3 February in Southport. Officers spotted Slemen conducting a suspected drug deal. A subsequent search uncovered a large stash of crack cocaine and heroin, all ready for street sale.
Vulnerable Drug User Protected Amid Drug Bust
The individual buying drugs from Slemen was identified as a vulnerable missing person. Police ensured they were safely returned to staffed accommodation and arranged appropriate drug referrals to support their recovery.
Project Medusa Strikes Again
The investigation was led by Operation Toxic, part of Merseyside Police’s wider Project Medusa initiative. This project relentlessly targets County Lines dealers and works to protect vulnerable people exploited by drug gangs.
“Slemen thought he could flood our communities with drugs, but our officers’ swift action brought him to justice,” said Inspector Stephen Morris. “Our fight continues to smash organised crime, protect vulnerable lives, and reduce drug harm.”
