Tragic Moped Crash on White Hart Lane Claims Man’s Life
Police rushed to White Hart Lane, N17, at 10:54am on Wednesday, 3 November after reports of a moped crashing into a truck.
Rider Critically Injured, Dies a Week Later
The 59-year-old moped rider suffered a serious head injury and was airlifted by London’s Air Ambulance to an east London hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he sadly died a week later on Wednesday, 10 November. His family have been informed.
Truck Driver Arrested on Drug Driving Suspicion
The truck driver involved stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. He was taken to a west London police station and later released under investigation.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage
Detective Sergeant Becca Collens of the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command said: “This collision happened on a busy road in daylight. It’s likely someone’s dash cam caught it. If you were near White Hart Lane around mid-morning on 3 November, please check your footage.”
“There were also several people at the Asda petrol station forecourt nearby. If you witnessed anything and haven’t contacted police yet, please come forward.”
