A former Leicestershire Special Police Constable, Jamie Wallace, 21, has pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children. Wallace admitted the offences during his appearance at Leicester Magistrates Court on April 8.
Shocking Discovery on Mobile Phones
Wallace was arrested in October 2023, while still serving as a Special Police Constable. Police seized two mobile phones from him. An investigation revealed a disturbing haul of images:
- 122 Category A images (most serious)
- 217 Category B images
- 112 Category C images
The offences were committed over a five-year period from December 2018 to October 2023.
Police React: Zero Tolerance for Abuse
“This offending is horrific,” said Chief Constable David Sandall. “Our online abuse team acted swiftly to arrest Wallace and conduct a full investigation. Thanks to their work, he was left with no option but to plead guilty.”
Wallace was suspended immediately after his arrest and later resigned. A gross misconduct hearing in July 2024 concluded that he would have been dismissed without notice if still serving.
Next Steps: Sentencing Scheduled
Wallace has been released on bail and will face sentencing at Leicester Crown Court on Tuesday, May 26.
