Late-Night Fry-Up Sparks Fire Alarm on Isle of Wight

Firefighters rushed to Venture Quays in East Cowes late Sunday after a resident’s midnight snack set off the fire alarm.

Fumes from Fryer Trigger Panic

Just after 11.45pm, the East Cowes fire crew sprang into action when fumes from a late-night fry-up activated the automatic fire alarm. A second team from Newport was also called out but stood down once it became clear there was no actual fire.

False Alarm Ends Quickly

The incident caused only a brief scare, with fire crews quickly confirming the cause and leaving residents to tuck back into their snacks. No damage or injuries were reported.
