Guy Pearce, A Neighbours Legend, Is Returning To Ramsey Street As The Show Sadly Ends Its 37-year Run

Peace joins a growing list of celebrities who have returned to the legendary street after Channel 5 pulled the plug, much to the chagrin of fans.
The now-Hollywood star will join a long list of the show’s most iconic actors, including Kyle Minogue (Charlene Robinson), Jason Donovan (Scott Robinson), Ian Smith (Harold Bishop), Paul Keane (Des Clarke), Peter O’Brien (Shane Ramsay), Natalie Bassingthwaighte (Izzy Hoyland), Daniel MacPherson (Joel Samuel), Melissa Bell (Lucy Robinson), Mark Little (Joe Mangel), Olympia Valance
“It’s very exciting and surreal to be back on set again, but it feels like coming home,” Guy Pearce said.
It’s where my professional journey began. I’d been asked to return on several occasions over the years and wondered if it was the right thing to do, but when I realised the show was coming to an end, I knew I had to do it.”
When Channel 5 announced earlier this year that they would no longer be broadcasting the show, they stated, “We recognise that there will be disappointment about this decision, but our current focus is on increasing our investment in original UK drama, which has strong appeal for our viewers.”
While many of us are excited to see some Ramsey Street legends return, especially if Scott and Charlene return in her green mini car, many fans are still upset about the show’s demise.
Only time will tell if Channel 5 can move on and reclaim viewers who, as many have predicted, will boycott the channel when the final episode airs in August.
