Emergency Services Flood Marden in Search

Coastguard helicopters, Kent Search and Rescue teams, and police officers have been scouring Marden and neighbouring villages since shortly after 9pm. Searchers are combing gardens, hedgerows, and side roads with torches in grim weather conditions.

Heavy rain has left some roads flooded and impassable. Volunteer 4×4 drivers from the South East have been called in to reach harder-to-access areas.

A control point for police and volunteer searchers has been set up at the junction of Mayes Road and Goulding Road in Marden.

Police Issue Appeal for Information

Inspector Suzy McDonnell said: “We are very concerned for this man’s welfare due to considerable flooding on local roads. He may have tried to avoid these by sticking to footpaths or fields.”

“Emergency services are searching the area and we urge anyone who has seen Nicholas or knows where he is to get in touch.”
