A man has been locked up for nearly four years after police caught him with a stash of drugs and cash following a high-speed pursuit in Swindon.

Alleged Albanian Crime Link Sparks Police Chase

Edison Dragjoshi, 26, with no fixed address, faced Swindon Crown Court on April 20. He admitted possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and dangerous driving. The court sentenced him to three years and eight months behind bars. The drama unfolded on March 10 at around 3.40pm, when officers flagged a car suspected of ties to Albanian organised crime. PC Mason of the Stratton, Central, North and West Neighbourhood Policing Team spotted the vehicle at the White Hart roundabout. A short but tense chase followed, ending at Station Road, Chiseldon, where Dragjoshi fled on foot.

Huge Drug Haul and Cash Seized

Dragjoshi was caught after being tracked through nearby gardens. Police found more than £5,000 worth of cocaine, over £1,000 of cannabis, and £3,650 in cash during the arrest.

Neighbourhood Inspector Loz Copeland said: “This is an excellent result which follows an investigation and prosecution led by the local NPT. “One of our continued focuses within our area is tackling drug-related criminality, and this is an excellent example of where officers worked proactively to disrupt drug supply and protect the local community.””

The successful crackdown demonstrates Wiltshire Police’s commitment to rooting out local drug crime and keeping communities safe.
