A 19-year-old woman was arrested following a brutal stabbing of a 17-year-old boy in Croydon yesterday. The shocking attack happened around 5pm on Oliver Grove, South Norwood, prompting a swift police response.
Teen Rushed to Hospital with Stab Wounds
Officers discovered the injured teenager at the scene. Emergency services, including the London Ambulance and Air Ambulance, quickly took him to the hospital. Fortunately, his injuries were serious but not life-threatening or life-changing.
Woman Arrested on Suspicion of GBH and Robbery
The suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and robbery. She remains held as police carry out their investigation.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “At around 5.03pm on Thursday, April 23, officers were called to reports of an assault on Oliver Grove, South Norwood. Officers attended alongside London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance and located a 17-year-old boy with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where his injuries were assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing. A 19-year-old woman has since been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and robbery. She remains in police custody.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Detectives are urging anyone with information to contact police on 101, quoting CAD5719/23APR, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. A London Ambulance Service spokesman added: “We responded immediately with ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars and motorcycles, as well as an advanced paramedic and incident response officer to ensure the teenager received prompt medical aid.”
