Murder Probe Launched After Paul Taylor Vanishes
Cumbria Police have launched a murder investigation following the mysterious disappearance of Paul Taylor, a man from Annan. Detectives have taken a fresh turn in the case after receiving new information. Detective Chief Superintendent Dave Pattinson has urged anyone with details to come forward and help crack the case.
Last Seen Driving from Annan to Carlisle
Police want to speak to anyone who had contact with Paul in the weeks before he vanished. They’re especially keen to trace his movements on the evening of Tuesday, October 17. That night, Paul was driving a blue Vauxhall Corsa, registration PY18 DYO, heading from Annan to Carlisle.
His car was reportedly seen in several Carlisle areas, including Kingmoor South, Carlisle West, Yewdale, Sandsfield Park, and Brough Road. It was later found abandoned in Langwathby on the morning of Thursday, October 19.
Multiple Arrests Made in Murder Inquiry
The investigation has already led to several arrests. Two 19-year-old men from Carlisle are in custody, suspected of murder. A 37-year-old man from Carlisle and a 17-year-old boy from Appleby have also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Paul’s family is being supported by liaison officers and has been informed of the serious new developments.

- Paul was last seen leaving his home in Annan shortly after 9.45pm on October 17.
- His car was tracked heading towards Carlisle just before midnight.
- The police are piecing together his exact route and movements through the area.
