Slade Green Primary School Locked Down After Hoax Threat

St Paul’s (Slade Green) Church of England Primary School was plunged into lockdown on the afternoon of September 19, 2024, after a bogus call claimed a man with a hammer was lurking outside. Staff acted fast to protect pupils, locking down the premises straight away.

Police Confirm No Real Danger

The school swiftly contacted the Metropolitan Police for advice. Officers later confirmed the alarm was a hoax — no real threat was present. The false report sparked panic but thankfully caused no harm.

Principal Thanks Parents for Patience

Principal Mrs W Cornford emailed parents to explain the situation. She said the school had received a call they believed was from police, prompting urgent lockdown measures. Once officers confirmed there was no danger, children were safely released.

Investigation Underway Into False Call

St Paul’s assured families that student safety remains their top priority and that they acted with caution. Police are now hunting the culprit behind the fake threat.
