Shock Assault After Football Match Leaves Man With Broken Jaw!

Unprovoked Attack on Burton-on-Trent Platform

Just after 4pm on Sunday, 30 January, a football fan heading home from Derby had his journey brutally interrupted. After getting off a service at Burton-on-Trent, the victim was suddenly attacked by a man who had disembarked from the same train. The assault was completely unprovoked.

Victim Suffers Serious Injuries

The violent blow left the victim with two fractured jaws, causing severe pain and trauma. Immediately after the attack, the assailant jumped aboard a train bound for Birmingham and vanished from the scene.

Police Urge Public Help to Nab Attacker

If you recognise the attacker or have any info, British Transport Police want to hear from you urgently. Text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 321 of 30/01/22. Alternatively, you can report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
