Suspicious Package Sparks Evacuation in Nottinghamshire

A residential street was locked down for hours today (7 April) after police were tipped off about a suspicious package inside a home.

All Clear After Thorough Search

Officers carried out an extensive search but found nothing suspicious. The area has now been declared safe, much to the relief of residents and emergency crews.

Precautionary Evacuations and Road Closures

  • Nearby homes were temporarily evacuated as a safety precaution.
  • Road closures were also put in place during the operation.
  • These restrictions have now been lifted, with residents allowed back and roads reopened.

Police Praise Public and Emergency Services

Chief Inspector Amy Styles-Jones said: “We’re pleased to say this incident has now been safely concluded and people can return to their homes. Our top priority was keeping everyone safe, which is why we treated this report with utmost seriousness.”
