Suspicious Stranger Confronts 12-Year-Old Boy in Shirley
Extra police patrols are now cracking down in Shirley after a 12-year-old boy was approached by a strange man on St Edmund’s Road last Wednesday afternoon.
Dark-Skinned Man and Tinted Car Spotted
The incident happened between 4pm and 4:30pm on May 22. The boy was walking home when a dark-skinned man in a dark car with tinted windows stopped and spoke briefly to him. Thankfully, the youngster ran off unharmed.
Police Step Up Patrols and School Visits
Neighbourhood Policing Team officers are now on high alert, increasing patrols and speaking to parents and pupils at local schools to raise awareness and keep the community safe.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“This is a rare occurrence and our officers have been speaking to people in the local area to gather information and provide reassurance,” said Detective Sergeant Will Whale. “Did you see the man or the vehicle in the area? Please contact us ASAP by calling 101.”
