Chaos at Port of Dover as Sacked Workers Block Main Road
Jubilee Way Grind to Halt
Workers recently sacked at the Port of Dover staged a dramatic protest on Thursday afternoon. After leaving the ship, they barricaded Jubilee Way just after 2.30pm, stopping lorries and vehicles from entering the crucial port.
Protesters Wave Flags, Block Traffic
Brandishing flags and placards, the ex-workers snarled traffic, causing chaos for drivers trying to access the port. The sudden block left Jubilee Way at a complete standstill, disrupting operations and deliveries.
Kent Police Step In Amid Emergency
Kent Police quickly arrived on the scene to manage the unrest. At one tense moment, officers granted an emergency ambulance passage through the cordon, ensuring medical help wasn’t delayed. Despite the disruption, the protest remained peaceful.
Support from Drivers Rings Out
Officers allowed the sit-in to continue peacefully, while passing drivers showed solidarity by sounding their horns in support of the sacked workers.
