Three Men Pulled from Mud in Dramatic River Rescue Near Sittingbourne

Three men found themselves stuck in mud while boating on the River Medway near Sittingbourne. Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene after reports of the trio trapped off Lapwing Drive in Lower Halstow.

Firefighters and Coastguard Launch Mud Rescue

Five fire engines, including the specialist Water Safety Unit, teamed up with H.M. Coastguard to tackle the tricky rescue. Using mud rescue gear, crews hauled the men safely back to dry land.

Emergency Services Standby

The rescued men were handed over to South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) for medical checks. Kent Police officers were also on site to assist with the operation.
