Terrifying Crash on A77 Leaves Two Men Fighting for Lives

East Ayrshire, Scotland – A brutal smash between a Ford Transit van and a Stagecoach bus on the A77 has left two men with life-threatening injuries. The horror collision happened just after 5:30pm near the A719 junction to Galston on Monday evening.

Bus Driver Critical, Van Driver Seriously Hurt

The 23-year-old Stagecoach bus driver is in a critical condition in hospital. The 42-year-old driver of the white Ford Transit van suffered serious injuries but his condition is stable.

Passengers Treated and Released

  • 68-year-old woman and 19-year-old man aboard the bus were taken to hospital as a precaution.
  • Both have since been discharged after checks.

Road Closed Overnight As Police Investigate

The A77 was shut down for hours as officers probed the crash scene. Roads reopened around 3:30am Tuesday morning.

Inspector Craig Beaver from Police Scotland called on eyewitnesses to come forward. “If you were near the scene or captured dashcam footage, please get in touch to help our investigation,” he said.
