Firefighters Hospitalised After Firework Thrown Through Southampton Fire Station Window

Chaos erupted last night at Southampton Fire Station when a lit firework was hurled through a window, injuring two firefighters. Both were rushed to hospital but released later the same night. Police have launched a full investigation into the reckless attack.

Shock and Outrage from Fire Service

Assistant Director of Operations at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue, Dan Tasker, slammed the incident. He said, “The consequences of this deeply unpleasant incident could have been much worse and we’re thankful that our firefighters were not seriously injured.”

Tasker added that both injured staff are receiving support. He urged the public, “If you have any information, please contact the police.”

A Stark Warning Ahead of Bonfire Night

With Bonfire Night nearly here, Tasker issued a serious warning about fireworks. “Fireworks are explosives and can cause real and lasting damage,” he said. “Please be responsible, know where fireworks are and what’s happening around you.”

He urged anyone witnessing reckless firework behaviour to report it immediately to the police.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Hampshire police are probing the incident near Redbridge and want to hear from anyone with information. Witnesses or anyone who might know the culprit should report online or call 101, quoting reference 44220443014.
