Woman Stabbed in Canterbury – Suspect Charged with Attempted Murder
Shock in Canterbury on Monday morning as a woman was stabbed at a property on Central Parade just before 8am. Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance rushed to the scene after reports of the attack. The victim was quickly taken to hospital with serious stab wounds.
Known Suspect Arrested – Charged with Multiple Offences
Police arrested Ian McQuaide, 34, from Forrester Close, Canterbury. He has now been charged with attempted murder, coercive and controlling behaviour, assault, making death threats, and causing grievous bodily harm.
McQuaide appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on September 7. He was remanded in custody and will face Maidstone Crown Court on October 5.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Info on Three Cars
Officers want anyone who saw anything suspicious between 6:50am and 7:15am along Central Parade, Market Street, or near Market Street Car Park on September 5 to come forward.
- Particularly interested in drivers of a dark-colored Peugeot 206
- A dark-colored Vauxhall Corsa
- And a dark-colored Ford Focus spotted in the area
