The boy’s family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers from the Metropolitan Police. Detective Chief Superintendent Lawry said:

Once again we have had to tell a child’s family that their loved one has been killed in an act of violence using a knife. Our thoughts are with them as they struggle to comprehend what has happened.”

Lawry emphasized the serious dangers posed by “zombie-style” knives, which have become increasingly prevalent. The fact that a 15-year-old teenager, who had his whole life ahead of him, has been taken from his family in this way is a stark and sobering reminder of the danger of these weapons. We are committed to doing everything in our power to take these weapons off our streets,” he added.

A crime scene remains in place as detectives continue their investigations. Local teams are working closely with specialist homicide detectives to establish the events leading to the boy’s death. No arrests have been made, and enquiries are continuing at pace.

The police are also appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward, no matter how small the detail.

Were you in the area of Eglinton Road on Sunday evening around 6:30 p.m.? Did you see anyone running from the area? If you live in the area, do you have any CCTV, doorbell cameras, or dashcam footage that could help?” Lawry asked.
