Woman Fumes at Paramedics, Leaves Foul-Mouthed Note on Ambulance
A Stoke-on-Trent woman has been hit with a fine after verbally abusing paramedics and slapping a filthy note on their ambulance. Kirsty Sharman, 26, pleaded guilty at North Staffordshire Justice Centre to a public order offence after the shocking incident on Sunday.
Furious Rant Left on Emergency Vehicle
Sharman scribbled a brutal message on the side of an ambulance parked outside her home in Tunstall, demanding it move immediately. The note read:
“If this van is for anyone but Number 14 then you have no right to be parked here. I couldn’t give a shit if the whole street collasped (sic). Now move your van from outside my house.”
Paramedics were on duty responding to a patient in cardiac arrest when Sharman not only left the rude note but also shouted abuse at the crew.
Police Condemn Abuse, Fine Issued
Staffordshire Police Chief Inspector John Owen slammed the behaviour. He said, “Emergency services must be able to carry out their roles without fear of abuse or intimidation of any kind.”
Sharman’s outburst sparked outrage online. A local paramedic mentor, Katie Tudor, posted the picture of the note on Twitter, tagging in the police. She wrote, “So upset to be sent this by one of our crews this morning. Along with this note left on their ambulance they received a load of verbal abuse.”
The magistrate at Newcastle-under-Lyme court described the incident as “absolutely despicable.” Sharman, unemployed and without a car of her own, was ordered to pay a £120 fine, a £30 victim surcharge, and £135 in court costs. She also issued a “most sincere apology” through her solicitor before being released.
Public Outrage Over Ambulance Abuse
Online reaction has been fierce, with many calling the behaviour disgraceful. An official ambulance service Twitter account lamented the episode with the hashtag #sadtimes, reflecting the frustration of those who put their lives on the line every day.
