Faux Doc Jailed for Preying on Pregnant Woman in Hospital Horror

Gregory Boyle, 58, has been locked up for six years and four months after sexually assaulting a heavily pregnant woman while pretending to be a doctor. The sickening attack happened at Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH) in Farnborough, Kent.

Pretended to Be Cardiologist, Targeted Vulnerable Woman

On 21 October 2015, Boyle visited the woman in her 20s, who was under hospital care. The victim’s partner had done some building work at Boyle’s home and casually shared details of the woman’s pregnancy and heart condition. Boyle then claimed he was a cardiologist and offered to give the woman a “free second opinion.”

Concerned for her welfare, the partner agreed to let Boyle see the woman in hospital. Boyle introduced himself as a doctor and under the guise of an exam, touched the pregnant woman inappropriately.

Exposed After Nurse Walks In

A nurse caught Boyle in the act and challenged him. Staff quickly checked the General Medical Council register — and found no trace of him. Police were called, and Boyle was arrested that same day.

He admitted guilt to assault by penetration and sexual assault at Croydon Crown Court on 12 March 2018.

Police Praise Victim’s Bravery

Detective Constable Paul Hill from the Metropolitan Police said: “Boyle targeted a vulnerable, heavily pregnant woman who was concerned for her health. He actively sought to deceive the victim, her family, and the medical staff at PRUH by pretending to be a doctor.”

“I’d like to thank the victim for her bravery throughout this investigation.”

“Thankfully, this type of offending is rare, but if anyone recognises Boyle or believes they have been victimised by him, please contact the Metropolitan Police.”
