Woman Attacked Inside Car in Leysdown-on-Sea

Police are hunting witnesses after a woman in her 40s was violently assaulted inside a car on Leysdown Road, Leysdown-on-Sea. The shocking attack happened around 9pm on Sunday, February 4, 2024.

Multiple Punches in Front Passenger Seat

The victim was seated in the front passenger seat of a white Peugeot 308 when the driver reportedly launched the brutal attack, landing multiple punches. The car then sped off but soon crashed into a bollard and a fence a short distance away.

The man behind the assault fled before cops arrived but has since been released on bail as the investigation continues.

Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

PC Lydia Edwards from Kent Police’s Vulnerability Investigation Team is calling for anyone who saw the attack to step forward — especially those near a local pub close to the scene. “We believe there were people nearby who may have witnessed the assault,” she said.

She added: “Drivers with dashcam footage or residents with CCTV are urged to check recordings and help our enquiry.”
