Driver Walks Away After Car Flips on Roof in Totland Crash
A driver escaped serious injury after their car flipped onto its roof in Totland on the Isle of Wight last night (Thursday 30th August 2018).
Single-Car Crash on Colwell Road
The black Renault hatchback clipped a wall, smashed into a fence, then rolled over, coming to rest upside down on Colwell Road. The driver managed to get out unaided before firefighters arrived.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
A fire crew from Freshwater was called to the incident, along with paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Hampshire police officers. The driver was treated at the scene but did not need hospital care after the low-speed smash.
Firefighters Prevent Environmental Damage
Firefighters used an Environment Agency spill kit to stop fuel leaking into a nearby drain, making the area safe. Police contractors later cleared away the wrecked car.
