Three in custody after cashpoint ripped out of wall by JCB

Three people are in custody this morning (Tuesday, May 7), following the theft of a cashpoint from the Co-op in Headley Road, Liphook. A JCB had been used to remove the cashpoint before being abandoned in the middle of the road, causing an obstruction. Officers were called at 2.20am and three offenders were arrested in the Surrey area following a pursuit by police vehicles. The three arrested are a 46 year old man and a 29 year old man, both from Guildford and a 33 year old man of no fixed abode. They currently remain in custody. The road remains cordoned off at this time as officers carry out investigations but is expected to be fully re-opened later today.
