Eight arrests made after fight outside Dagenham takeaway

Detectives investigating a fight at a fast food venue in Dagenham have arrested eight males. Police were called at 9.25pm on Tuesday, 28 May to reports of a group of males armed with knives and bats at Porters Avenue, Dagenham. Officers attended. A fight had taken place both outside and inside a fast food venue on Porters Avenue. The suspects had left the scene prior to police arrival. A short time later, at 9.46pm police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address at Eastern Avenue, Ilford where two males had suffered knife wounds. Three other males at the address had suffered minor injuries that were not knife related. The five males were taken to an east London hospital by London Ambulance service where their injuries were not life threatening. Following enquiries by detectives from East Area Command Unit, eight males, including the five from the Eastern Avenue address, were arrested as follows in connection with the Porters Avenue, Dagenham incident: A 26-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm [GBH]. A 21-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of GBH. A 18-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of GBH. A 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of GBH. A 61-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of GBH. A 23-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of GBH. A 28-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of GBH. A 19-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of GBH. They are all released on police bail to return on a date in late June. Enquiries are ongoing.
