Terror Arrests in Luton: Man and Woman Charged
A man and a woman arrested in Luton on 3 July have been formally charged with terrorism offences. The 28-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were stopped during a vehicle check by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.
Serious Terror Charges Unveiled
The pair were initially held under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000. After being taken to a London police station, a warrant extended their detention until 17 July. Tonight, the man faces three counts under the Terrorism Acts of 2000 and 2006:
- Section 5 (1) (A) of the Terrorism Act 2006
- Section 58 (1) (B) of the Terrorism Act 2000
- Section 2 (1) of the Terrorism Act 2006
The 25-year-old woman has been charged with two counts under section 38B (2) of the Terrorism Act 2000.
Court Appearance Scheduled
Both suspects are due in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Tuesday 16 July, as the investigation continues.
