Stabbing and Armed Police Shooting Rock Streatham High Road
Chaos erupted on Streatham High Road, Lambeth, at around 2pm on Sunday, 2 February. Two people were stabbed in a terrifying attack. Armed officers on a Counter Terrorism operation rushed to the scene and shot a male suspect, who died instantly.
Third Victim Hurt, Suspicious Device Found
A third person suffered minor injuries, likely from shattered glass after police fired their weapon. Officers discovered a device strapped to the suspect’s body. Specialist bomb squads raced in and confirmed it was a hoax.
Emergency services took three victims to south London hospitals. One man remains in critical condition. One woman has non-life threatening wounds, and another has minor injuries.
Terror Alert and Ongoing Investigation
The Met’s Counter Terrorism Command quickly declared the incident terrorist-related, believed to be Islamist-inspired. Streatham High Road remains sealed off with police cordons, keeping the public safe while detectives comb the area for evidence.
