Teen Dies After Hit-and-Run with E-Scooter in Bromley
Tragedy struck in Southborough Lane just after 1am on Sunday, 18 July. A 16-year-old boy riding an e-scooter was hit by a car, leaving him with serious injuries. Despite emergency efforts, he later died in a central London hospital.
Driver Flees Scene, Arrest Made
The culprit, driving a red Fiat Punto, fled immediately but was found hours later in Southwood Close, Bromley. The 20-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving under the influence. He remains in custody.
Police Hunt for Missing E-Scooter and Witnesses
- The e-scooter involved vanished from the scene and is believed to have been stolen.
- Officers also want to trace occupants of a dark people carrier with a sliding door seen nearby.
