The A42 Northbound at the Packington Interchange has been closed and traffic is at a standstill due to a life changing collision between a Van and HGV.
Emergency services have been called to the incident that happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
It’s understood that a van has ploughed into the back of a parked HGV.
A full collision investigation has been launched by specialist collision investigators from Derbyshire Police following the life changing collision
Driver are being advised to avoid the area and to seek an alternative route if possible.
The closure is likely to remain in place for sometime into the mid morning.
Derbyshire Police have been approached for comment.
