A Cocker Spaniel lost on the beach whilst out on a Sunday morning walk has been rescued by volunteers from Ryde Inshore Rescue – UKNIP

The pet was spotted underneath Ryde Pier by a concerned member of the public, who called Ryde Rescue’s base at Appley to inform them of the situation.

Thankfully, the crew were on station for their weekly training so were able to pick up the call and make further enquiries.

With the confirmation of the dog in trouble on a whaling piece of the Victorian structure, Ryde Rescue 2 lifeboat was launched.

The black and white female Cocker was quickly located and was very pleased to see her rescuers.

With the animal safely in the arms of crewman Steve, the dog’s owners were contacted through social media after a Facebook appeal was spotted about a missing dog in the Appley area.

With the lifeboat successfully recovered onto dry land, the cold but uninjured dog was reunited with her very thankful owner.
