Man Arrested After Body of 20-Year-Old Woman Found in Wavertree
Early Morning Arrest Raises Alarm
A man from Wavertree handed himself in to Merseyside Police HQ just after 2.30am on Friday. Police then swooped on a property in Prince Alfred Road, Wavertree, where they discovered the body of a 20-year-old woman.
Investigation Underway
The arrested man is set to be questioned by detectives today. A Home Office post mortem will determine the cause of death. Police say they are not searching for anyone else linked to the case, but house-to-house inquiries continue.
Family Supported, Public Urged to Help
The victim’s next of kin have been informed, and specialist officers are helping the grieving family through this harrowing time. Detective Chief Inspector Paul Speight appealed to the public:
“If you were in the area at the time, saw or heard any suspicious behaviour, or have any CCTV or dashcam footage, please come forward. Any information, no matter how small, could prove vital.”
