Tragedy at Shoeburyness High School as Year 7 Boy Dies
Ambulance crews called police to Shoeburyness High School just before 1.20pm on Monday, March 28 over welfare concerns for a young pupil.
Officers arrived at the Caulfield Road school and found paramedics treating a medical emergency. Despite everyone’s best efforts, the Year 7 boy tragically died at the scene.
Police Launch Unexplained Death Inquiry
Police are treating the boy’s death as unexplained. A full report will be prepared for the coroner as enquiries continue.
District Commander Ian Hughes said: “I would like to offer my condolences to the boy’s family. We are doing everything we can to support them through this tragic and difficult time.”
He added officers remain at the school to carry on their investigations and will continue working closely with staff.
Community Reassured: No Knife Involved
Addressing social media rumours, Commander Hughes reassured parents and locals: “No knife was involved during this tragic incident.”
The community and school are left in shock as police dig deeper to understand what happened to the young boy at Shoeburyness High.
