Man Arrested After Town Station Rampage

Chaos erupted outside the town’s railway station on Wednesday 4 May 2022. Police were called to reports of a man causing a disturbance and acting aggressively towards the public.

Assaults on Officers and Racial Abuse

Officers tracked the suspect to a car park in Hitchen Hatch Lane and arrested him. But things got worse. The man allegedly assaulted two officers during the arrest, including racially abusing one of them.

Further Attacks at Police Station

At Tonbridge Police Station, the trouble continued. The 28-year-old reportedly spat at people present and attacked two more officers.

Charges and Court Appearance

Joshua Young, from Hurst Way, Sevenoaks, now faces serious charges:

  • Five counts of assaulting an emergency worker
  • A racially aggravated assault on a police officer
  • Public order offence
  • Breaching a Stalking Prevention Order on 26 March

Medway magistrates remanded Young in custody on Friday 6 May, with a Crown Court date set.
