Early Morning Ambulance Theft Ends in Arrest After Violent Assault
Thief Caught Red-Handed on Bond Street
At 5:30am on June 17, a Bond Street resident in Englefield Green spotted a man breaking into a South East Coast Ambulance. The culprit made off on a bike, carrying paramedics’ equipment — including a valuable medical bag.
Police Dog Unit Snaps Into Action
The theft sparked a swift response from a nearby police dog unit. They tracked down the suspect just moments later and detained him on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.
Violent Assault as Arrest Unfolded
The suspect turned aggressive during the arrest. On the way to custody in Staines, he kicked a police officer in the face—an assault that led to an additional charge for attacking a member of the emergency services.
He remains in custody this morning as investigations continue.
