Glastonbury Festival Kicks Off with Mixed Weather Ahead

The iconic Glastonbury Festival kicks off this Wednesday, drawing tens of thousands of fans to Somerset’s fields. But prepare for a weather rollercoaster – pack both sunhats and raincoats.

Sunshine to Start, Storms to Follow

Met Office Deputy Meteorologist Helen Caughey says: “Expect plenty of sunshine across the South West on Wednesday, with temps hitting 26-27°C. It’ll stay dry and warm through Thursday.”

But don’t get too comfortable. From Friday onwards, the forecast turns grim. Fast-moving heavy showers and thunderstorms will rock the festival, with some surface flooding possible. Temperatures will dip to a cooler 18-20°C.

Sunday starts off mostly dry but will see heavy and thundery showers by late morning. This unpredictable weather trend will likely carry on into next week.
