Police swooped on a Maserati GranTurismo in Reading after reports linked the luxury car to a string of fuel thefts and a petrol station assault. Thames Valley officers acted fast, arresting two suspects in a dramatic late-night bust.
High-Speed Chase Ends in a Box-In
The flashy car was spotted cruising the Inner Distribution Road (IDR) when the driver tried to dodge cops by darting down a side street. But the chase was short-lived. Patrol units and an armed response team boxed the vehicle in at traffic lights, stopping the driver cold.
Serious Offences Uncovered
- Driver on a provisional licence and likely uninsured
- Possible false insurance info submitted
- Class A drugs and other controlled substances were found
- Bladed weapon discovered in the driver’s door
- Thousands of pounds in cash were seized
- Roadside drug test positive for cocaine
A sniffer dog later uncovered even more Class A drugs hidden in the car. The driver failed a field impairment test at the station, showing signs of drug influence.
Two Held, Car Seized
Both the driver and passenger were arrested on multiple charges, including drug possession, assault, driving offences, and handling criminal property. Police also revealed the Maserati hadn’t been taxed since November 2025. The vehicle has been seized and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency is pursuing unpaid taxes. Both suspects remain in custody as inquiries continue.
