A 43-year-old carer died after being struck by a train on a railway line in Warminster, an inquest has heard.
Sian Michelle Webb, from Warminster, was found on the railway beneath the footbridge between Holybush Road and Westbury Road.
An inquest opened in Salisbury heard that Ms Webb was confirmed dead at the railway line after being struck by a train on 23 July 2026.
Her medical cause of death was recorded as multiple traumatic injury.
Wiltshire Police has previously confirmed that her death is not being treated as suspicious.
Police referred the incident to the watchdog
Following Ms Webb’s death, Wiltshire Police made a referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) because officers had previously had contact with her.
The force said the matter was referred back without a direction for an independent investigation.
Wiltshire Police said: “This was referred back to the force with no direction to investigate.
“We carried out a preliminary review and found no individual or force learning required therefore, the investigation was closed.”
The inquest into Ms Webb’s death has been adjourned and will resume on a date yet to be fixed.
