Violence Erupted After Incident on Millennium Bridge

Officers say the victim was involved in an earlier altercation linked to two males on the Millennium Bridge. It’s reported a large branch was thrown at a cyclist passing below, who thankfully was uninjured. The two males then left the bridge but were confronted by the elderly man on Honeybourne Way. Police revealed an exchange took place before one of the men punched the victim, causing him to fall. Both fled before police arrived.

Victim Dies in Hospital, Police Appeal for Witnesses

Emergency services rushed the man to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in critical condition. He died two days later on Friday, 10 April.
