A brazen robbery attempt was thwarted after a suspect tried to steal cash from a shop in Northdown Road, Cliftonville.

Staff Heroically Fends Off Armed Robber

The drama unfolded at around 9.25pm on Monday, 10 October 2022. The suspect stormed into the store near the junction with Northumberland Avenue and demanded money from the till. The quick-thinking staff member refused and managed to force the intruder out without a fight.

  • Mixed ethnicity male, aged 24-25
  • About 5 ft 4 ins tall, average build
  • Dressed all in black: jacket with hood up, black jeans, black gloves
  • Wore a partial face covering
  • Carrying a knife
