Tragedy struck Greater Manchester on Tuesday when a young man was fatally stabbed on Southlea Road, Withington. The victim was rushed to hospital but sadly died shortly after from his injuries. Police have informed his next of kin.
Police Launch Major Investigation After Fatal Stabbing
Greater Manchester Police were called just after 11:30am to the stabbing incident. Detective Superintendent Neil Jones of GMP South Manchester Division expressed his condolences, saying, “Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones at this devastating time. We understand this will cause distress and concern across Manchester.”
He added the force is still in the early stages of the probe but reassured the public officers are conducting extensive enquiries to uncover the full story behind the attack.

Public Urged to Help with Information
Detective Jones called on anyone with details about the stabbing or any footage from dash cams or CCTV in the area to come forward. Information can be reported anonymously via Crimestoppers.
