Police are appealing to the public for assistance as they investigate an incident that occurred on board an Avanti service from London Euston to Edinburgh. In connection with the incident, officers have released a CCTV image of a woman whom they believe may have vital information to help with their investigation.
The incident took place at approximately 7pm on Friday, 9 June, while the victim was travelling with her boyfriend. According to reports, the victim was spat at by a young woman who subsequently disembarked from the train at Carlisle station.
Authorities are now urging anyone who recognizes the woman in the CCTV image or possesses any information relevant to the investigation to come forward. The assistance of the public is crucial in identifying and apprehending the individual involved.
