Hero Ex-Paramedic Saves Man’s Life at Llangollen Festival
Organizers of the Llangollen International Musical Festival are desperate to track down a brave former paramedic who saved a concert-goer’s life after a cardiac arrest in the car park on Tuesday night.
The drama unfolded just after 11 pm, moments after the opening concert starring Alfie Boe and Britain’s Got Talent stars Welsh of the West End.
Quick-Thinking Lifesaver Dashes for Defibrillator
The unknown hero showed lightning-fast response, sprinting to a nearby rugby club to fetch a defibrillator. He then administered CPR until medics arrived – a move the patient’s family say they’ll never forget.
In tribute to his heroic actions, the festival has gifted the ex-paramedic free tickets for the rest of the event as a thank you.
Festival Boss Hails ‘Miracle’ Rescue
Camilla King, the festival’s executive producer, called the presence of the ex-paramedic at the critical moment “a miracle.” She praised the seamless support from St John’s Ambulance staff stationed at the festival.
The patient was rushed by ambulance to Wrexham Maelor Hospital and is now in stable condition. Remarkably, he was able to speak to his wife on the way, offering reassurance amid the chaos.
“It was a fantastic response all around, and we’re very grateful to everyone concerned. We wish him a full and speedy recovery,” said Ms King.
Warm Thanks and Festival Spirit
St John’s Ambulance Cymru also extended their well-wishes and praised their volunteers for delivering rapid, expert care.
Headliner Alfie Boe thanked fans for attending and shared his love for returning to the stunning Welsh festival setting.
The Llangollen organisers hope to find the ex-paramedic soon to personally thank him for his life-saving bravery.
