St Helens Man Charged After Armed Rampage Near Church

Armed Suspect Caught in St Helens

Police swooped at around 9.20pm after reports a man was prowling Parr Mount Street armed with a bottle and knife. The hunt led them to Traverse Street near The Mount Church, where officers spotted the aggressive suspect still holding the weapons.

The man was quickly disarmed and arrested. One officer suffered a minor injury during the scuffle but, thankfully, no members of the public were hurt.

Thomas McComish Faces Serious Charges

33-year-old Thomas McComish from Morgan Street, St Helens, has been slammed with multiple charges including attempted murder, attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of a bladed article, and carrying an offensive weapon in public.

McComish is due to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court today, Thursday 8 December.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Inspector Lisa Milligan urged anyone with information to come forward. She said,
