Major Drugs Gang Busted in South Wales: Four Locked Up for Decade-Long Jail Terms
Encrypted Messaging Led Police to Cocaine and Heroin Kingpin
Detectives smashed a huge drugs ring operating across Wales, led by 31-year-old Nicholas Gale. Using encrypted apps, Gale organised deals between his suppliers and customers, moving large quantities of high-purity cocaine and heroin.
His network included Spencer Perks, 42, his driver and courier Jamie Christopher, 22, and a wholesale customer Jake Garland, 28, who ran his own distribution chain.
Massive Hauls Seized at Arrest
On July 14, 2022, police swooped after intercepting encrypted messages arranging the collection of wholesale cocaine. Perks picked up 18 kilos from Gale’s supplier, intended for Garland and Christopher.
Officers arrested Gale, Perks, and Christopher the same day, seizing 12 kilos of cocaine, a cash-counting machine, encrypted devices, customer lists, and coded instructions for distributing drugs by postcode. A cannabis farm was also found at Perks’ home.
Garland Nabbed with £55,000 Cash and More Cocaine
On September 27, Garland, from Newport, was arrested at his home. Police found cocaine, scales, and over £55,000 in cash—evidence of his deep involvement.
